The tales of Hans Christian Andersen (author of The Little Mermaid, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, among others) are exciting and mysterious, containing a timeless magic that has enchanted children and adults over the years; they are magical stories that stimulate the imagination of all generations. This is the case of “The Emperor´s New Clothes”, the tale that Fernando Gomes adapted and staged for this season at Teatroesfera. A musical fantasy full of magic, humor, beautiful songs and a careful and imaginative visual, providing direct and participatory contact with children, and always with the main concern of transmitting essential values, encouraging reading, a taste for art and, in this particular case, a taste for theater. “The Emperor Wears No Clothes” tells the story of a king who is so vain that he cannot resist a beautiful piece of clothing. Until one day two tailors appear at the palace and promise him the most beautiful suit ever, with one particularity: the fabric is so special that it is only visible to the eyes of the most intelligent... will the audience be able to see such suit?
