TEAMUS - Associação de Artes Performativas presents the premiere of the work "BÚZIO", by the composer Eugénio Rodrigues from Lousã, performed by the Five Ways Quintet, a brass quintet made up of young Portuguese musicians.
Starting out in the numerous philharmonic orchestras throughout the country, and then moving on to conservatories or higher education music schools, Portuguese musicians have spread throughout the world, playing in the best orchestras and ensembles in the world. Today, also in Portugal, many of these musicians have organized themselves into ensembles and are forging their own path in classical and contemporary music. An example of this is the Five Ways Quintet. The ensemble offers us a program that brings together Portuguese music, and music from other parts of the world, from the 20th and 21st centuries, exploring the vast and rich repertoire for brass quintet, the standard formation in classical music. In addition to the premiere of the piece "BÚZIO", the concert also includes a presentation, together with the Lausus Choir, of a new version for choir and brass of the Rugby Club Lousã Anthem, which is celebrating its 52nd anniversary this year, a club with a strong tradition in the region.
This event is supported by the República Portuguesa - Cultura, Direção Geral das Artes, Câmara Municipal de Miranda do Corvo and Câmara Municipal da Lousã. TEAMUS is supported by Licor Beirão and EFAPEL.
