There are songs that mark generations, sounds that remind us of other people, moments, smells, colors, making them absolutely recognizable, to the point that we immediately say the name of who composed and/or played them. “As Folhas Novas Mudam de Cor” (New Leaves Change Color) is a concert that revisits many of the themes composed by António Pinho Vargas when his music explored the realm of jazz.
In this concert, we witness a quartet that brings together musicians from different generations who accepted the challenge of bringing to the present time music that doesn't age and that we want to hear live again. In a second part of the same concert, we hear António Pinho Vargas, solo, perform some of his most emblematic themes that marked his life as a jazz musician and also the lives of all those who listened to him then and always. A concert that confirms that new leaves, even if they change color, do not lose their brilliance.
