Traveler and songwriter, Pedro Abrunhosa began by studying jazz at the Porto Conservatory of Music and after sixteen years he taught there. From the Hot Clube de Lisboa to the founding of the Porto Jazz School, the author incorporated jazz into his rock albums, heading to the essence of things. His powerful writing is evident, with songs that join so many other hymns, legends, multi-platinum adagios, in thousands of concerts and sold-out venues all over the world.

Orquestra Clássica do Centro performed for the first time as a professional orchestra in December 2001. It has received solo and conducting contributions from notable figures in our musical scene, such as Jan Wierzba, Cesário Costa, Rui Massena, José Eduardo Gomes, Luís Carvalho or Martin André Sérgio Alapont, Marina Pacheco, Paulo Ferreira, Mário João Alves, Elisabete Matos, Dora Rodrigues, Patrícia Quinta, Nelson Ebo, Dejan Ivanovic or Marta Menezes. It has also found ways to occasionally produce concerts with a symphonic timbral and orchestral density, promoting the performance of chamber ensembles (trios, quartets and quintets, among others), extending a varied range of repertoires.
